My first trip out of the country in quite a long time. It was just up to Canada for a week -- a reminder of how very much I love that country. I got to see my cousin Linda for the first time in years. I got to meet several scholars that I've long admired. I got to eat a lot of seafood and walk along the Sea Wall. I got to watch a dolphin show. I got to ride a ferry. Kin joined me midway through the trip. So all in all, awesome. [...]

I've fallen behind on writing up our travels. My excuses include the fact that we did very little of it in April. Also, Kin broke this blog somehow. April wasn't such a great month, then, for the tech or the gypsy part of our company. We spent much of April in Eugene, which means visiting mostly the same ol' restaurants. There were a few new bright spots here though, namely the Level Up Arcade which had its grand opening in April. [...]

Kin and I have been trying to be smarter and more sophisticated with our travel choices. That means flying, not driving. It means staying in hotels, not camping in the back of the minivan. But we thought we'd try Amtrak to travel along the I-5 corridor. I mean, Amtrak on the east coast isn't too bad, so how awful could it be on the west coast, right? OMG, wrong. [...]
